Soul Searching
Peeling away the onion
uncovering another layer
Brings a tear to my eye
can just about bear
keep stripping back
trying not to stare
I sneak a little peep
find I’m almost there
then come the floods
my soul’s laid bare
All that remains
is pungent despair
