Soul of Sea Stars

"Like a shooting s t a r, plunging from lunar fields of lavenders, to touch the aqua a b y s s a l, I f i d d l e away my c o l o s s a l fears, letting go of all that one h a d in trusts and t r y s t s, thereby, surrendering to the ' Soul of the Seven Seas ', flowing like v e l v e t beneath the 'Ship of Dreams' "
I've been a miridical monet of elegance, fading along those husky honours of a mademoiselle, who twirls in a ballet within glassy snow globe. Maybe, I've always worn a tiara of thorns and thistles, like Lilith ~ cruising through this vetiver voyage, across cactus kingdoms where the 'Gods Of Wind' slice my essence in every strife. This Atlantic ocean shall home my secrecies and serenity, which I knitted within teal seafoams, conversing with crystal nymphs and fountain-fairies, residing in the Picasso moors of bizarre brushstrokes. Shedding all the sins in fate's sinking sanctuary that will sing in a forlorn ode, I wonder, would my fingers prick like poison into the marine peace, placed on the pedestal of solemn solitude, making it bleed, evermore? This Amphitrite never unfurled in cherry kismets like a rose blossoming in dawning riverscapes ~ forevermore yearning to feel the warmth of love's oath, in Poseidon's palace, hence, I shall enclose my soul in opal oysters, crowned on a freezing bed of snow, foreseeing my rebirth as a 'Hope Pearl', that never rusts away. In an Icy affair of the champagne moon and milky waves, as we chase salts of survival, I will feel the kiss of spring's warmth, if my cherished ones, escape these unforgettable titanium tints of the Titanic, that shall erase their wishes and faith in a time-reversal, skipping beyond the throbbing turbulence of this tragedy. I was never afraid of becoming a kin of death, but as the last drop of wine spills, making a soft crackle in the kohl sleet, a horror crawls upon my spirit, for, those familiar faces succumbing to their unwanted demise, shall haunt me, in speckles of 'fare thee well'.
Wrapping Aurora Borealis around my palm, I will take a dip in silky s e a w a t e r s and let my r u i n s blend with frozen white a s h, where this throat e c h o e s sirens, when the 'Heart of the Ocean' shimmers and never remains an u n h e a r d cacophony...

Dear Tom, what a wonderful surprise this is, wowww!! It's early morning here & I just woke up to an e-mail saying I've been placed in your contest, then I checked but it wasn't showing the results on Soup.. But now, I can see the winners list and I should really say, I'm shocked indeed! Seeing your liking for narrative/prose style poetry, I didn't think mine was up to the mark but being placed in your contest, it's truly an honour, honestly. Thank you so much for your kindness, I'm so happy that you liked my poem, very grateful also ~ :) yeeaay!!

Your poem delves into themes of inner turmoil, and self-discovery dear Hiya. The diction used in the poem is rich and evocative carefully selected to create a sense of mystery and depth, with phrases like "miridical monet of elegance" and "vetiver voyage" adding a touch of exoticism to the text. Your use of alliteration in phrases like "fading along those husky honors" and "crystal nymphs and fountain fairies" creates a musical quality in the language.

... the sea comes to life as the adventurist herself, bearing the universe like some young archers for an ancient war!!! And our hearts must dance of fear and delightful admiration like some Trogan warriors ... these beautyful commotions look like those my Niger chambers, near the Niger maidens, Mbari amazons and their gladiators! An awfully great share!!!

This is a piece where you can return and return and there would be something else to discover each time.

I enjoyed the almost mystical quality of the journey of self-discovery. I loved the 'hope of pearl' reference...it was exquisite! I especially liked: "I shall enclose my soul in opal oysters, crowned on a freezing bed of snow." I also appreciated your allusions to the Titanic, Poseidon, and the Aurora Borealis. They added such depth to your words. A splendid write and enjoyable read. Have a pleasant weekend, Sara

Your poem is a mesmerizing voyage through the vast landscapes of emotions and self-discovery. The metaphors and imagery, like the shooting star plunging into lunar fields and Lilith cruising through the vetiver voyage, create a rich image of experiences. The exploration of solitude and rebirth, symbolized by the 'Hope Pearl,' is particularly poignant. The use of elements like the Atlantic ocean, crystal nymphs, and the Titanic tragedy adds layers of complexity to the narrative..
