Soul of My Soul
Soul of my soul,
Come to my rescue.
Heart of my heart,
Dare I ask it of you?
A short-lived leaf of a flower,
Dead in the oblivious dark.
A place of hunger and thirst,
To this hell I embark.
This, I did not foresee,
It's as a theif in the night.
It crept up on me,
There was no way to fight.
I am afraid,
For sweetness, happiness and joy,
This gold is lock tight,
In the eyes of a boy.
I fear pain does not die,
I fear dreams will burn to dust.
I keep you in my heart,
Are there none to trust?
