Soul of a Sinner, Life of a Loser
This rhapsody is for that rotten-minded man
Whose life is lingering among thorns and thistles;
He is clothed in crimson, caged in the cell of Satan
Because he neglected the voices of angels and apostles
All day long in the stream of sin he swims,
Wining and dining in weariness and woe;
Singing and dancing when he ought to scream
For the Lord to save him from the fiery foe
He’s blind to the signs and stars in the skies,
His ears are tied to the tempting tales of throng;
Every season, he is laden with the luggage of lies
Because he is deaf to the savior’s sincere song
His soul is soiled and his mind is messed up,
His heart is haughty… like the faded flower he’ll fall;
He’s got a beautiful body but his life is locked up
Because he refuse to hearken to Christ’s clarion call
