Soul Mate

One of us is already dead,
One of us is still living,
I can't get out of my head,
All the love you keep giving.

For one of us, our blood is cold,
For one of us, our blood is hot,
My life continues to unfold,
While you have begun to rot.

One of our hearts is still beating,
One of our hearts is now silent,
We have to wait, I keep repeating,
But, somehow you remain defiant.

Your soul will continue to roam,
Your soul mate will always be here,
Here, you shall always have a home,
So, please, please, just stay near.

I know that you are my soul mate,
I know that I am yours forever,
I promise we'll meet on a future date,
We are entwined, and that you cannot sever.
