Soul Mate

I wander alone
On this dark, dark night
And dream of love
My guiding light

Seeking that life
Of two minds set as one,
A fated existence
An emptiness gone

Countless miles elapsed
And in barren surrounds
Where most cannot live
And others go unfound

Yet even through
The thick hazy gloom
I can sense your longing
Your love in bloom

And
 a thousand miles
Of this desolate terrain
Could not isolate
Our love enchained

Oh, my lightened heart
Glistening with hope
It keeps me moving
Along this slumbering slope

To where we belong
A contented existence
Where dreams are felt
A warming presence

Of burgeoning love
That will not fade
Not even when deaths’
Lonely call is made

Whether troubles or pain
Do try to intrude
They will not be more
Than a brief interlude

To this complete happiness
For which fate holds the key;
Our two hearts bonded
Our love finally set free

So I wander alone
On this dark, dark night
And dream of love
My guiding light

I love "Of two minds set as one" and yes, the loneliness without is a "dark, dark night." Beautifully described. Best wishes, Sara
