Soul Deep

as the tide calmly came
and the winds sang
he played
six strings
ardently
his fingers stroked each note
touching her innermost
leaving a glow wherever it flowed
her soul's anecdote
is what he told
legato
slow
so she would know
he wanted to take his time
to find nuances of her mind
hidden in intricate designs
that twirled and twined
brightly
igniting the mind of his eye
inviting him to come inside

and she sighed

because he played like he knew her
and she felt like she was newer
and that's what drew her
so she drew him
into her
and she drew him
in purer
strokes of color
his hues
she painted the grays and blues
in rhythm, in tune
to the resonance that brewed
in his soul into
every fiber of his being
was being viewed
as though he was nude
..she saw him too

and he cried

so as one they painted and played
as though it was love that they made
heated exchange
souls engaged
singing the same refrain
giving off identical rays
warming
soothing like beautiful rain
and both became
changed
in waves
and in they fell...
soul deep
