Soul Absorption

violins explain my life in verse my heart
understands-/ melancholy moods, the softest
touch-/ visiting moments from my past with
soft caress-/ penetrating me, like blood
coursing through my body-/ freely giving to
every healing vibrato the violin and musician
grant me this evening.

Sounds like you're violin-sensitive, that is to the special sort of nuance a violin is capable of. A very sensitive poem, heart felt. I retired years ago...wife still plays. Am classical oriented. First chair in minor orchestras. I'm no Josh Bell. Have taught violin in a couple of colleges, played Cincinnati Symphony, Aspen. Good to hear form a violin lover. Regards, daver

I would think this thought as I sit down and take the violin out of it's case that hasn't been opened in a few years. let all the joyous memories come back to you and the pain of practicing 4 to 5 hours a day (if you studied music performance at achool I guess). then, after your heart went through that mini emotional rollercoaster, you have to pick a piece to play...if I played violin I'd go with something by Paganini.

Music surely can gift us with healing. Soup violinist Daver Austin would love this poem -- perhaps you should email him and let him know you posted it. This is a brilliant observation on music's amazing power. Love, Carolyn

Comparing emotion to the sound of violin....yes...I can feel how the two would be intertwined....such feelings, so intense...can make one weep....
