Soul

I smile every time I see her, a reason to keep me sane. We laugh at stupid things and then cry about stupid boys. Her name is engraved in me like a title claiming a story. We dance because we know we're meant to be and there couldn't be anyone better. Sometimes we hide from each other because we still fear. In the end, we hug with relief that it's safe. I'll dance in my room to the thought that I'm not alone. And I never will be because of her. My smile recognizes her name and the memories I long to make more of. I didn't think I could be loved the same. She truly did. I'm always scared to be alive and die. To cry and to smile. There's so much in this world and I don't want more than you. Am I selfish for that, I don't mind. Share your smile with me, it makes me grow. And feel strong like I can pick the world up. Emotionally you're my reflection. I love you for that, I don't have to speak to be understood. I don't have to shout to be heard or try so hard simply to be seen for who I am.
