Sorry To Forget Paul Mooney

Death, why so quiet? How can a mountain be moved without rumbling? Has the snow been redirected? Did the breeze whistle through the branches and the leaves? Did the wind wail a trumpet at the loss? How could words echoed in my visions come from a stone? Where are the stomping tantrums of theft? A life is now a death Why did I forget to mourn you? Why did I not go searching for your last thought, words to resurrect? Where do I go now when they beat down on my back and tell me it soothes? Who will tell the truth? It won't be me, it had to be you
