Sorrow Hidden In Wealth

What is wealth without happiness?
Mansions that allow them to sleep in different rooms,
Expensive cars that allow them not to travel together,
Chef meals that allow them not to cook for each other,
For it's very much possible for wealth to hide deep sorrows,
As naked happiness lies in the poor!

Indeed! As the old saying goes; 'Money can't buy happiness.' Your poem is beautifully expressed and meaningful, Brian. Your last line; 'As naked happiness lies in the poor!' is a brilliant finale to this thought-provoking piece. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Brian, I read this and smiled, for you have nailed part of the problems we have communicating with our own children who sometimes learn to not trust anyone else either. "Expensive cars that allow them not to travel together, Chef meals that allow them not to cook for each other." So sad. Very very sad.
