Sordid Stories

Are the sordid stories about the surreal, 
sharp, stoney Greek isles known as Sirenum Scopuli,
supposedly inhabited by sexy, sultry, sirens, 
who salaciously seduced stupefied shipwrecked sailors 
by simply singing lascivious songs, 
surely mythologic or surprisingly true?
