Sophomore

These lines are made of languid expression,
With soothing rhythm and enticing seduction
(But I am held steadfast by a Fool's progression,
And I am the Goods of a Fool's production)

I appreciate the sincerity of your reply. I must admit that I am not a Christian, nor am I religious, but I do believe in God; however, I am not a believer in Christ or Satan or most anything Biblical. But what I do know is that not for the good Lord, I would not be typing this morning. I know, no matter what, He will take care of me :)

You are God's handy work made in his image and he is no fool and neither are you. We may play the fool at times but that is not our identity.

If you want to remove this heavy burden, God is willing to lift it from your shoulders. Jesus died for you for this very reason. A free gift purchased at a very great price. You can approach him as you are, you don't have to earn it or be good enough. I had the hardest time understanding this. That's why we have to trust like a child, he takes care of the rest.

I agree with you. I think I am an intelligent person who, unfortunately, is prone to making mistakes and monumental messes. I think I express the idea of "The Fool" so much because of all the wrongs I've wrought over the years, and I carry so much guilt as a result. It's a reoccurring theme because poetry is such a therapeutic outlet for me

sounds like many meetings I have attended.....I have learned to daydream past the issues that make me crazy! Hang on...."it too shall pass..."

Thanks for stopping by, Victoria. I think the poem is a metaphor for myself; I am the Fool mentioned, and I am the one who stands in my own way. Things would flow more fluidly if I wasn't too busy messing up everything. I hope that makes some sense, at least (if the poem doesn't lol).
