Sonnett 177
I don't want to be a green card lover
I don't care what people say
Because my love for you is forever green
And I think about you night and day
True love is not defined by limitation
True love is not a slave to time
Whether in riches or in poverty
I know I can love you without a dime
My heart has become a compass
And its hands keeps tilting to the direction of your heart
I knew you were the one for me right
From the start
I don't want to be a green card lover
And to do so will be insincere
But the pains of not seeing you again
Is too hard for my heart to bear
I don't want to be a green card lover
I care little about the lust of men
I would rather be down to earth with you
Rather than to pretend
So you married another man
And I chose a wife which is not by my own design
But the desires of the Lord supersedes the wishes of man
And his instructions are divine
I don't want to be a green card lover
To love a woman just because of the benefit of her country
I will rather look up to Jehovah, Lord
Because with God I can never go hungry
So I wish you happiness and wealth
And of course good health
And pray that we see again
But deep in my heart I pray that we never part
Because you love is driving me insane
