Sonnet 6
Heaven’s waters flow down from up above,
And give to you a bath of fragrant roses,
Your marble figure clothed by spinning doves,
I mist perfume to tickle your fine nose,
I love to see you walking oh so fair,
As music jumps at every stride you make,
I have no fate than have you in my care,
This vow to you I say and never break,
Yet though I never learned the price of pain,
The darts you threw at me left such a wound,
They test the lover’s power to remain sane,
I wish you cut my leaves and left me pruned;
And after all the petals have been swept,
In groves and sailing hills their air is kept.
