Sonnet 56 'M' Happy Darling and M' Constant Bride'

M’ happy darling, and m’ constant bride, Not fearing th’earth, and yet, pure as a nun! Her eyes, like stars! Her smile, ever wide, And in her heart, a diamond full of sun! And now she rises, far from this dense plane, Where cow-milk, cheese, crass sugars rule the day! Above the clouds, where sprites are seen again, And joys, and angels greet her on her way! She’ll not come back, and yet, did never leave, For in my heart, she lives, and every day I praise the Source of Life that sent her here It’s only that we played! That’s what I grieve, But still, she lives in photos, and in things, And endless is the joy her presence brings!
