Sonnet 16
Do please unlock me from loves ball and chain
My heart has never held such hurt before
My eyes are clouds that often release rain
And thunder echoes from my lungs a roar
I slip in sorrow sinking in her sea
Breathing the blue and error of her ways
Stranded in strife with salted eyes to see
Myself marveled to mourn inside her maze
Perhaps by chance she'll let this caged bird fly
Above the low ruins of captive years
Maybe my face would show another sky
With eyes bright as the sun to dry the tears
Today I'll draw my life a better way
With blue horizons over what was grey
