Sonnet

When we met I was pricked by cupid's dart She promised to always be there for me I have been in love since the very start She walks in a crowd, they part like the sea When she walks her hair billows in the wind She is as fair as winter's white snowflakes Lips more red than any rose I could send My love is lasting. For her my heart aches When she wakes, all the world begins to sing She is anything but simplicity With her love around, I feel like a king If my heart is a lock, she has the key She defined beauty and kindness and grace But now she's gone and there's tears on my face

Loss is always one of the most painful things and you expressed it perfectly in your sonnet..

This piece was for a friend's school project years ago...now that I've graduated I can admit that I was paid $10 to write a sonnet for his school project. Haha, I'm glad I took the offer because I think this is one of my best. Thank you for commenting.
