Songwriter's Sonnet

Songwriter's Sonnet Come, sit here beside me – it’s where you belong. Hand me my guitar – I’ll sing you a song About roads I have traveled and bridges I've crossed On destiny’s journey from where I was lost. I can tell you of victories in faraway lands Fighting for causes no one understands. I've written of dangers that no man should face – I have written of things that time can’t erase Wanderlust drove me, for so many years, Through miles of wasteland and rivers of tears. I've been there and done that in so many things - I've written the songs that Destiny sings. My last song will be about that shining star That led me to Paradise – here, where you are. Very nice Jake. I like the relaxed and peaceful tone, age and experience will do that when its done with heart and wonderful to know there was a fateful star to lead him to love.

Hi John, congratulations...:) ... By the way I have something to say to all who supported my ANY POEM # 19 contest. Shame on me, Shame on me! Please forgive me, for not taking the time, to CONGRATULATE and adore all the winning poems for a second or third time. I AM VERY LATE:(-- I was a little mad at the world. However, this is my winning list, I will give everyone the same love and support. I'm dropping by with a Copy Paste note from the bottom of my heart. I am sorry, it's not like me, to walk away, as if nothing. Truly, I appreciate every winning poem, and HM. LOVE LINDA

I must assume your poetic skills are finely honed, Jack. This sonnet is inviting in its fable-like theme. Thank you for knocking on my door. Being on the road hampers me from contributing, but I will, soon. Great guy!

I predict that last song will be your finest. A life lived full to the brim. Affords the closing chapter, a summary of the best things adored. So looking forward to more my friend. Big hugs!
