Songs of Light, Songs of Shadow

A small bird
outside my
  window
  sings a song
which pierces
the morning air
    The daytime
is full of songs
of light
   But nightfall always
arrives
    The sound of
cicadas
     reaches the ear
on summer nights
   Songs of shadow
move us in different ways
         Nature has
opened a door
    for us
Let yourself
     pass through it
and you will
unlock its charms
     Resist and you
will suffer
     Flowers bloom
like a fireworks display
   The sun is so distant
yet it brings
  us warmth
While the moon
    brings us
    some comfort
In the pitch - black night
which along with
   it's blanket of
     stars
covers this blue orb
    when the solar heat
slowly dies
