Songs
I’m sitting here so quietly
Just listening to your songs
The tears they come so easily
The music carries on
It’s such a love my heart desires
As long as it is true
No lies, deceit, or smart remarks
Can you feel it too?
My being cries out to be heard
My heart, it yearns for love
My soul is crying deep inside
For a love it doesn’t have
I wonder if you really know
The feelings songs evoke
Of how they touch my very being
With longing for my place
If all the world should end right now
I know that I will take
The words of songs so sweet to me
Into that ending place
The words are sang so sweetly
The feelings come from deep
I know that they’re experienced
The hurt that love can keep
We all reach out and want to hold
That love that’s meant for us
It’s so elusive don’t you find
We grovel in its dust.
I want to hold you tight right now
And listen as you play
Those song so full of feeling hon
They take my breath away.
