The first bird in the spring are Robins hopping,
searching, searching for earth worms on my lawn.
It all starts right at dawn,
with songs unstopping.
Among my mighty beech and oak trees are Blue Jay;.
they sing a loud screeching jay, jay all day!
Melodious the songs of Cardinals- red,
they have twenty plus tunes in their head.
Oh those yellow flashes of the Golden Finch,
whistling at the feeder as all the seeds they pinch!
But, I do adore Chicadee's- curious
with all that chirp, chirping serious.
