Red-tailed Hawk - eBird

Song of The Red-Tailed Hawk No 10: AABB

Less than eighty, now ... they're, unaccounted.
'Tis sad ... NEXT: the hawk hovered that founded
fresh sedges, grasslands, and deserts idyll,
God in the detail, Red-Tailed Hawk sidle,
Blitzkrieg mob by crows, females sized greater,
social-less wingers, life mono-mater,
dives one hundred twenty miles per hour,
kills owl young BOTH nesting competitor,
Prey spotted one hundred feet in the air,
Their eyesight to man, seven times finer,
Two feet, two pounds, twenty-one years lifespan,
Roadkill, hunting, and human expansion,
Diet: various birds, and small rodents,
Scrub deserts, farm fields, rainforests, woodlands.

Your poem beautifully captures the essence of the red-tailed hawk, merging scientific precision with poetic grace. The opening lines, 'Less than eighty, now ... they're, unaccounted,' immediately set the tone for a contemplative piece that delves into the nature of this majestic bird...

Oy vey, Silent One. I just did a redo--usually, I've handle these oddly due to the circumstances, read my comment below to Ink Empress where airs my dilemma. I leave the line separately until I'm ready to conjure as add-on's--thought I proof read, but as you're keenly aware, my mind was elsewhere, ugh S O R R Y--you're probably sensing another baby...mayhaps. This is a very unique and profound sonnet that flows with brilliant lines and impeccable imagery that you’ve painted using nature .. I especially found this line to stand out, “ Diet: various birds, and small rodents, Scrub deserts, farm fields, rainforests, woodlands.“ songs of fauna well delivered and reality it is so profoundly you’ve articulated, pleasure reading this. Sending you light

Ah, thanks, Ink Empress. An added note of appreciation for the outlined spotlights. I need to rephrase so that the top line is not confused with the Red-tailed Hawk, which is not endangered, but in sync with the song of sonnets format that indicates strung sonnets will show the last line of the previous sonnet to appear as the first line of the succeeding sonnet, ugh. Aloha, William
