Song of Life
The stabbing blade of pain-
Glass broken by the beating drum of our hearts,
The melody that keeps us alive:
The melody that we dance and sing to ourselves,
The hum that plays in our soul in a moment of bliss,
The breath that we seize in awe.
Or perhaps the gentle backdrop of a quiet chuckle.
Babies wail and giggle the song of life,
The tune that only you can compose.
In those seconds of contentment,
We allow ourselves to stand in the spotlight,
And be drenched by its beautiful noise.
In moments of despair we get drowned by it.
But, even then,
Our lungs splutter the final notes
And we lay to rest as the track stops recording.
Music left to be played in memory, titled:
'Your name, a drama, complete.'
