Somewhere Near Tomorrow

In the early evening
haze
     After the streets have
taken a beating from the
sun
You'll see the cracks in
your view of reality
Learn that
               Things
               are
               not
               always
                        what they seem at first
The asphalt homeland
      welcomes its children
that includes you, friend
      While you wait for the
music to begin
Feel the urban love
      which is palpable this
night
Feel the pain and pleasure
      of millions of people
the masses - if you will
       If the game must be
played
        Then play it
Lest you snatch defeat
         from the jaws of victory

Indeed, things are not always as they seem, Matthew. Being able to perceive the truth is a gift and it sounds like you have mastered this art. Thanks for getting my old brain thinking with this intuitive write. Love, Carolyn
