Somewhere Far Away

Somewhere far away someone is reading what you've published Everyone of you out there has been exposed Lights continue to shine on in the distance Both in the city and in your mind Somewhere far away someone is reading what you've published That person might be a lawyer, doctor ,dock worker, homeless person or an aesthete Just keep reminding yourself everyday that you have talent Ignore the critics for they are not creators of original work As I sit here in the asphalt homeland I feel the night wrap itself around me like a crystalline blanket Verse is an excellent friend (at times)

Enjoyed reading your work. It is encouraging to know that some do read my work on here. I like Robert Frost, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Emily Dickinson, Janet Frame, Robert Loveman(lived in Georgia), and many others. There are so many writers out there that one just can't keep up with reading them all. Sara

well, my stuff is no longer published, but if people are coming here to soup and not other poets, it is a comfort to know maybe they are reading my stuff. Do you think? This is nice!

first to answer your question, matt. I do not read a lot of the old poets but between the two, I think I prefer frost to Sandburg. and you?
