Notes About The Poem

SOMEWHERE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
January wears a coat of salted sidewalks,
breathes in slow, deliberate clouds.
The sun—a pale coin dropped through frozen fingers~
counts its hours like spare change.
Bare trees scratch their questions
into the indifferent sky.
Somewhere beneath the snow,
the earth dreams in green.
