Sometimes Love Is Not Enough

They say you’ll feel better
once you got it out of your system,
why do I feel more cut off?
More detached then ever?
I’m sure they lied,
at least you know how I feel,
at least you know, I have been scarred
to an extend that breaking ties
with you are vital…

If I want to look the world
in the eye again I want to
do it with my head held high,
not sheepishly and scared
I want to be the person
I know I can be,
I don’t want to be held down
by someone’s toxic idea
of what friendship is…

Yes, I’ve got attitude
and I will probably love you forever
sometimes the hurt overshadows the love
sometimes love is not enough…

Yes, Wilma, there are times when loving someone is not enough. If love is not returned we are left with scars. Don't let anyone make you feel "sheepish and scared." You're a woman of power and will rise above it. Love, Carolyn
