Sometimes

Sometimes it feels like I'm standing outside,
Unable to speak because of my pride,
The words that go unspoken,
They start to cloud my head,
They overwhelm my mind as I lie awake in bed,
If I only said what my heart wanted to be heard,
If I blurted out every repressed word,
I would say that I love you,
I would say that I need you,
I would say that you're the only man,
That can make my dreams come true,
But the words were never spoken,
And my heart now remains broken,
Maybe if I told you,
Just what I wanted to say,
You might still be here with me,
Instead of so far away.
