Sometimes

sometimes,
          I'm afraid
          of myself;
          all at sea,
            unsure
    which side of life
       is up or down;
        not knowing
which fork in the road
             to take
  and need guidance.
         sometimes,
        I seek clarity,
  and through prayer,
     my mental knots
        come undone.
         sometimes,
    I shatter into bits
    of a broken stone
and need reassurance
     that all is broken
          w  i  t  h  i  n
          will be fixed,
        piece by piece.
          sometimes,
       I need strength
    to muddle through
          trying times,
       and to the Lord,
                I turn.
