Something To Believe

We all need something to believe in
But proof is far beyond conceiving
What a chapter condones in a bible
As my laughter atone's what's deniable...
By a profit who's taking a name
Like a soffit supporting a frame
Seeming sturdy but hollow inside
Yet so wordy there's nothing implied...
Till the message is lost on deaf ears
In the lessons that cost us our years
But we hope we recover the theft
As the Pope passes plates to the left...
Tempting lust that may hold me for spite
So the trust and betrayal that might
Occupy so much more than it should
And deny anything that's still good ...
But if there's a God in command
I dare him to stretch out his hand
And reach for the one thing my heart
Will beseech to my soul when I part...
