Something Special

We don’t know something special until it’s gone
Even when it looks us straight in the eyes
A gift, an opportunity, a friend or even love
Hovering, ever present to the point of screaming
Oblivious, not seen, not realised now lost
Like a flick of a switch you suddenly realise
What could have been has just given up

I like your writing..I recently lost my son. And, the one thing I miss..is the last thing I could have said. That may not be what you are talking about, but it still pertains to loss...Nice write...Holly Moore
