Something New

If a new Profession is not what was required, I certainly needed a new Direction. The basic pattern of my career was like that of a 'Backup Quarterback' whose success depended on someone else's Lack thereof. As long as the Quarterback continued to play well, I was there on the Rack but always prepared and ready to Attack and perform at the drop of a Hat. The nature of such a position meant that I'd be in transit most of my career. For heaven's Sake, each of my three kids was born in a different State. From Mississippi to Chicago; from Chicago to Wisconsin; from Wisconsin back to Chicago; from Chicago back to Mississippi; from Mississippi to San Francisco, from San Francisco to Sacramento. The 'handwriting was on the Wall'; I began to Stall, and my dream was turning into a Nightmare. By 1993, I was more inclined to read what the wall writer was Saying, not just to continue on and Stare. I sensed it was time for something new because too few were Buying. I heard for the first time a brief definition of 'Insanity', and when I heard it, it spoke something fresh to me about the need for Humanity to change and be renewed. It said that 'Insanity' is doing the same thing again and again with the Expectancy of a different result. Clearly, I wanted a different result and had to do something Differently. I pursued a course that gave me little success, Satisfaction, and fulfillment. I started to write and found fulfillment, satisfaction, and success by my own Definition. 10122018PoSoupContest, Trying Something New, Nina Parmenter All Rhyme words are capitalized; 9P

Writing has done SO much for my emotional state, and I wish I had started doing so much earlier than two years ago. I can relate to much of this great write, and I enjoyed the hidden rhythm in this flowing form very much. Blessings and best wishes, Curtis - congratulations on your superb win in Nina's challenging contest, my friend, keep up the excellent work! :-)
