“Something More” Softly pastels spill from lips where crimson speaks the heart time brushed its coarse hands along the body of my work and like a voyeur you watched the romance of it all never once being touched your eyes kissed the bell curves as they rose and fell such dedication to the symphonic values of love you rolled over me words you cupped and held read like a hot wet heart something of me in you of you in me you heard and felt the whispered secrets of wanting, something more; I held you captive in my hands; penned. (LadyLabyrinth / 2023) “In my life the piano sings brings me words that are not the strength of strings Firey rain and rubies cooling in the sun Now I see that my world has only just begun Notes that roll on winds with swirling wings brings me words that are not the strength of strings...”

"Lady, I will touch you with my mind"/E.E. Cummings ******* “lady, i will touch you with my mind. touch you and touch and touch until you give me suddenly a smile, shyly obscene (lady i will touch you with my mind.) Touch you, that is all, lightly and you utterly will become with infinite care the poem which i do not write." https://allpoetry.com/lady-i-will-touch-you-with-my-mind

Thank you Akina. Lots of amazing poets here and out there. You are amazing. "Ode to Red Lipstick", by Meghan Falley, is the one you want to read, that is amazing (too long for the box, link provided) ..."if you really love a writer, bury her in all your awful and watch as she scrawls her way out" Meghan Falley (from her book, "After the Witch Hunt).

I see your poetry is now a secret passionate read for those who are convinced they understand the flame that burns within as they stare at each word burning their eyes blinded by their own interpretations...as you have said you write and what they believe they have read is theirs to decide...for me I'm nothing more than a shadow of a smile...

"Sonnet in Search of an Author" /William Carlos Williams - "Nude bodies like peeled logs sometimes give off a sweetest odor, man and woman under the trees in full excess matching the cushion of aromatic pine-drift fallen threaded with trailing woodbine a sonnet might be made of it Might be made of it! odor of excess odor of pine needles, odor of peeled logs, odor of no odor other than trailing woodbine that has no odor, odor of a nude woman sometimes, odor of a man."

...surely this has to be more endearing than watching Babylon fall into a screaming shambles, its Trump being cuffed and shackled deadman walking into Fulton County prison...

"A woman who writes feels too much, those trances and portents! As if cycles and children and islands weren't enough; as if mourners and gossips and vegetables were never enough. She thinks she can warm the stars. A writer is essentially a spy. Dear love, I am that girl.“ (Anne Sexton, "The Black Art" from "All My Pretty Ones", 1962)

pencaricahaya Nov 2014 "We Voyeurs" - "We who like poetry, We who read these heartbreaking tidings. We are quite the voyeurs: Witnessing the silent struggle of our fellow poets, While they wear their "heart on their sleeve". While they open their heart and pour their suffering Too honestly to be good, Too ambiguously to be known, Too blue to be shared, But strong enough it can be felt.

It ain't easy to write of your own demise, And yet you will only talk of these things to the blank page: Who won't judge, nor bring advise. Just a release, just a way to express ourselves, that staring page, Expectant to be carved with our confessions, with our heart: A love vampire.

And as a friend of mine says: "Unrequited love is the best food for a poet's soul" Yet it's bitter no end, yet it's saddening no end. As a friend of mine says: "Poets are faded blue" Yet it's hard to lose all joy, be colorblind. You don't write to feel good, You write 'cause you feel bad. And we who like poetry, Seek in those lines ourselves, We rejoice on finding there A phrase or two that tell That we're not alone And that others Suffer too."

Janek Kentigern Oct 2014 "Venus Eye Trap" - "Venus eye trap please Accept my humblest apologies for allowing these normally perfectly well behaved pupils To rove carelessly across this shuddering carriage And interlock with your own For just a fraction Of a moment Too long. From two rows ahead On the 42 bus.

Through no fault of my own I was caught off guard by a sudden and unexpected spike in interest, That caused my eyes, hypnotized To run their boorish and misogynistic fingers over the gleaming contours of your beautiful Ivory toothed smile. Stolen goods. Simply intercepted. Not delivered to this godforsaken countenance But to the infinitely more charming Disembodied voice at the end of the line Invisible, omnipotent He's just shared with you what must be the best joke ever told by man. Yes! I greedily consumed the ill-gotten merchandise and shamefully enjoyed it. Quivering with benign, desperate exhilaration like the man whose jaw is slowly locking around the cold and tasteless barrel of a gun. Press no charge. It won't happen again."

I could bead a necklace from all the jewels and fool's gold I have scattered like breadcrumbs. Thank you, but perhaps this one, "Venus Eye Trap", more powerful poetry.

"Firey rain and rubies cooling in the sun Now I see that my world has only just begun" -- Yep! A large FAV from me as well. Beautiful weaving of words into imagery. Not limited by tension of strings nor voice of instrument. You Rock!

"Costa Brava" by Carlo C Gomez Apr 2020 Beaches get jealous But I'm not repentant She brought her bikini And changed where she Thought no one could see Heaven knows at sixteen I was full curious I saw the goods Lost my equilibrium And fell down the embankment To this day I may have selective memory About events I do, however Remember the reach And the bend And how I swear Her belly button winked

"Blue Light" By Hemingway's Beard Oct 2022 “Blue Light” it seems the blue lights drift ghostly past the windows more often these days each occasion bringing with it a momentary fleeting interest in where the drama is currently residing at who's pillow might be tear-stained through the night at who's door fear and anxiety are being permitted to step inside at who's house has become a closed film set waiting to be stripped of content until only walls doors windows and memories remain but as commercials end attention returns once more to a stronger more constant source of blue light and all present are thankful that at least the banshees that wailing of sirens has been silenced in time."

When you've been in your Plato's cave way, way too long, I have heard blue Light is gentler on the eyes, and perhaps some shades. I would thoroughly recommend our esteemed fellow readers to relocate to your pages to deeply plunge into your earnest and thoughtful enlightenment. Thank you (I must never ever forget my "thank you's", which another Watchman brought to my attention).
