This verse was Inspired by the song "My Immortal" by Evanesence. Such a beautiful and emotionaly deep song, one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy the read.

Someone to Care I’m weary of this haunted place, Trapped by insecurities and fears' embrace. I yearn for them to flee, To vanish without a trace, For this oppression still clings, a ceaseless chase, And it won’t leave me be.   This mental anguish fails to mend, The pain too raw, too real to comprehend, Scars of abuse, time can not erase, My arms reach out, in hope's embrace, Praying for someone to care.   When tears fall, no hand to wipe them clear, When screams cry, no solace from my fear, Amidst the terror, trembling hand unclaimed, No refuge found, from guilt and shame.   I once knew joy, beneath the sun's warm beam, Now ensnared by darkness, a recurring theme, Haunting demons in my darkest dreams, Sanity lost, in silent screams. They won’t leave me be.   This mental anguish fails to mend, The pain too raw, too real to comprehend, Scars of abuse, time can not erase, My heart laid bare, seeking grace, Longing for someone to care.   When tears fall, no hand to wipe them clear, When screams cry, no solace from my fear, Amidst the terror, trembling hand unclaimed, No refuge found, from guilt and shame.   I've urged myself, time and again, to move on, To gather strength, my resolve to don, But these demons prove too much to bear, They creep along the walls, by the candle's glare, They linger still, drowning in despair.   Won’t someone save me?

Yo, Edward, i read this Memorial weekend, but i think that comment as eaten. Of course this poem difficult to read & the excellence of its telling increased the pain of recall. Ihe image starts running (falling) & won’t stop until pushed away… A poem that excells. A poem of terror. Bless your effort.

' My Immortal, ' by Evanesence is, and has always been a favorite of mine. Your thoughts hold meaning and depth, with so many emotions bleeding through. The longing within is evident. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my heart. So tender and beautiful, all at the sane time. It's nice to meet you, Edward. My best to you. ~ Brandy

Hello Edward, your poem is deeply evocative. I liked that through your powerful words; you captured the profound sense of isolation and despair that accompanies mental anguish and past trauma. The imagery you use to depict the relentless pursuit of inner peace amidst disturbing memories is hauntingly beautiful. It's a brave and vulnerable piece that sheds light on the longing for support and understanding in the face of inner turmoil. It's the importance of compassion and empathy in our darkest moments. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, your kind words are appreciated, but the true credit belongs to Ben Moody and Amy Lee of Evanescence for crafting such a deeply emotional and compelling song. Thank you for investing your time in reading and reflecting on my interpretation, though it undoubtedly falls short of the original composition. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend giving the original piece a listen. Have a wonderful day
