Someone Passed Here Tonight
Someone Passed Here Tonight (for Ron)
Someone passed here through the night
The cloud-curtains translucent flared
A mind swallowed up the sounds in awe
The boatsman’s oars lay across the bow
“Who goes there” a liquid voice cried out?
Sudden are the winds of change influx
Waters in motion swirl, wavelets scurry on
yet sidelined are the one’s that help
“I am here” the true one replied
“Whereof you go tread along the shoreline” the ancients sang.
He chose a place to sit and wash and button down his shirt.
The pervasive sounds of choirs rang, the air reverberated calm
“I am off to thunderous lands” the true one whispered softly.
A newer fate awaits us all when the river we cross abides, to aid the boatsman, oars in hands, which brings us to the light
