Someone I Used To Know

Remember, Our frequent talks Our long walks Oh so long ago An age that has changed I remember you You were a shining star And on my chair I reclined Seeing your potential glory shine. A glory I wanted to be mine. We were so young back then, The smoke from our mouths leap collide and mingle And my ears jump to the beauty of your voice And if I were to go back, I wish I can make that choice Oh, how things are different now, You've since parted from my reality, And dodged what I thought was destiny, really Sometimes I think of this anomaly, And I question: were you in my sanity? In agony I question if you real pure as I hoped I was infatuated You turned out different from what I expected, It's been long since our frequent talks and long walks Overbearingly long But you're different than what I originally perceived, Your friends are not my friends, and my friends are an illusion, What used to be a shining star was actually like the billions of stars out there, In the world and the galaxy We coexist, but we don't correlate Not anymore, at least I'm sure you'll turn out just fine As fine as fine can be But it seems that fate has chosen for you to never be mine But I forever treasure your memory your melody Your laughs echo from the past Your smile has given me sustenance And your change has made me strong Goodbye, farewell, have a good life I won't see you tonight, or any other night But you will forever remain in my dreams. serenity.

Very well written..many good references in this poem...these 2 were among my fav's " but it seems that fate has chosen for you never to be mine"... AND..."You've since parted from my reality, and dodged what I thought was destiny"...both of those are superb!! good job!!!...tks for a nice read, Kurt
