Someone I Once Knew

She had a smile, I remember. A slightly crooked, honest smile, that showed me she was someone I could love. So when her eyes in bed held mine, all of my deceits became impossibilities, and all of my defences, but transparent flimsies. What was it she exposed? And from where within me? Was that a fragment of my soul she held before me? I never knew I had one. But she knew all of me.
