Somebody That I Used To Know

Have you ever loved a word, A breathless whisper that you’ve heard, A feather carried by a breeze, And so you fell for it with ease? Have you ever loved a grin, A curve of full lips red a sin? Have you ever smiled back And felt the world stop in its track? Have you ever loved two eyes Painted in shades of sunrise? Have you fallen without care Helplessly under their stare? Have you ever loved a song Whose lyrics you knew all along? But as she sang it soft and slow, Your soul remembered her from lives ago. Have you ever loved a name Burning your tongue like a flame? Do you still utter it at night, When the moon and stars keep you from sight? Have you ever loved her, say, Have you wept as she walked away? Do you know she cried for you? Did you love her? She did, too.
