Somebody Needs a Nap
For a third time his eyes pop open as his head flies up
I have been watching him not fall asleep for about 4 minutes.
His eyes flutter, close then pop back open.
His thumb is in his mouth now and he glares at me.
“Does someone need a nap?” Grandpa asks.
Fierce head shake no.
Crumb. He would have been asleep in 3 minutes.
“You’re a Poopy butt!” The overly tired 2year old yells,
Determined to keep awake now.
Glowering at grandpa.
Sticks out tongue.
“You’re a Poopy Butt!” Grandpa yells back.
Several choice exchanges later the Poopy Butt takes a nap
While I get the wrath of a sleepy 2 year old
