Somebody
I'M A SOMEBODY
( written after reading 'I'm a Nobody'
by Emily Dickinson )
I'm a somebody, so are you
though famous we may not be,
To say we are a nobody,
is a slur on humanity.
You may say you're a nobody
and believe this to be true
God never makes a nobody,
No, not even a small few.
Everybody is a somebody
with God, who loves us all.
He showed it when Jesus came
to redeem us from the fall.
Many do great things in life,
while other deeds may be small.
But God has no favourites,
His love's equal to us all.
Each one has been made unique
to use the gifts you've been given.
Many will earn the praise of men,
others the praise of heaven.
You may feel you are a nobody,
but feelings can be deceiving.
You are a somebody with God,
and that is worth believing.
