Some Things Are So Expensive

Some things are so expensive… Because you cannot keep them. They are so fleeting, and cannot be stored… Take rainbows, for instance, they are breathtaking. Such shimmering beauty all the way from Earth to Heaven. But, they only last a very short while and are gone. Another shining moment that cannot be kept is daybreak. When the sun first peeks above the horizon, a warm glow covers the earth. Then, it is like God takes a huge pallet and brush and spreads His colors across the sky. Each day is uniquely different. The light bathes the Earth in glorious splendor. The birds sing, and it makes the heart soar, and the head spin from so much beauty. But it passes very quickly. Sunset is more beautiful each passing day. Everyday it is the same, and yet so different. Hundreds of colors cause the atmosphere to glow and sparkle. What beauty! But it is over in a few minutes. Children’s happy voices at play, and babies cooing and learning to make language sounds. These cannot be stored. Each day babies and children move one day away from that happy state. In a short while their age of innocence is gone. Youth, because it slips away so quickly. It is an almost imperceptible change. Now you have it, now you don’t. Middle age is here before you know it. How very expensive youth is. Kindness is expensive. So few people know how to show it. People remember it forever. Some would give all they own for a small portion of it. Kindness is very expensive. Love…you canot pay enough to get it. It must be given freely. If you have it, treasure it forever. Life, for we cannot hold onto it forever. Sooner or later it wll be gone. We would give all the world for one more year when our time comes to leave the stage. Life is very precious and so expensive. It cannot be bought at any price.
