Some Say

Some people doubt that I slow enough to rest Tell me to stop, to enjoy what I have created But, don’t you see me here? Sitting and breathing in my garden Someone told me lately that they think I like chaos and calamity to be absorbed, to thrive but I don’t know why they think that when order keeps me safely grounded A friend said they noticed I like to find solutions And this is so true to my very character Also, I’ve learned to put chores in mind boxes To be ready tomorrow when the next box is opened And some say my day is mostly organized Into needs of future goals right beside today’s chosen fun Swirled inside these seams are ripples of challenges Exasperation that my plans melt in others open palms Just breath with the garden or go to the beach Amazing but fifteen minutes, an hour, a day really can refresh my page with newfound energy or clarity some say when the day is done, gratitude is not just a word

People often go by what they see on the outside, while neglecting what lies on the inside. Getting to know others better brings understanding. ~ Best regards // paul

What an amazing poem, this is Jeanne. Yes gratitude is not just a word, but a feeling, one so intense at times.

Hi John...it sounds like I would say you have felt some of these things yourself...I do try to listen to what my friends say as their advise can save the day but in the end, what my heart says is pure. Thanks for the comments...and thank you!

Some say you have an artistic eye and a poet's soul, and I am one of those people! I love how you frame your bio poem as an interplay between what "some say" and what you know in your heart. I appreciate the transparency, Jeanne, along with the sage advice to slowly breathe in the garden or beach air for a reset and filter everything through a heart of gratitude. So wonderful to read these words today ~ John

Great advice Jeanne. I believe that taking time for yourself helps one to be inspired to help others. We all need down time to care for ourselves. Those who constantly give lose their balance and become ill. Blessings xxoo
