Some Kind of Heaven

They put on their traveling shoes
Looking for some kind of heaven
They took the perilous race
Across the path of thorns
Letting the blood on their
Feet remain behind.

The sun growing on their backs
As they sailed the ocean
With nothing but a dream
In their heart
Forsaking what they knew
For the promise of glitter
The cry of ringing nickels and dimes
And cascade of lightened streets.

On decking they are welcomed to Paradise
To the place they have been looking for
Here they have no name
They are but faces in the streets.
