Some Children

Some children have never had to be still or quiet
Or calm or respectful or polite or well-behaved.
We see this right away
We are the kindergarten teachers
When we meet their parents
We understand them better

Some children are the boss
At Mom’s house
At Dad’s house
At their one friend’s house
We see this too.
We are the kindergarten teachers.
You should meet their parents!

And those same parents do not let anyone else tell them what to do!

Truer words were never spoken. Or "seldom," I can't decide which.
