Some Bragging Rights

 compound word verse
Any youngster can make us smile It's special, when it's our grandchild it's awesome. A new grandson brings on more fun blond-haired, blue-eyed, the smallest one cuddlesome. A twelve year old girl, full of joy Eight year old brother, busy boy now threesome. Shelley, Brendon and baby Case once empty nest, a lively place not lonesome. Baby noise rattles our rafters crying, sucking, burping, laughters he's winsome.

new form (to me) called compound word verse. compound word verse The Compound Word Verse is a poetry form invented by Margaret R. Smith that consists of five tercets (3-line stanzas) for a total of 15 lines. The last line of each stanza ends with a compound word and these compound words share a common stem word which is taken from the title. This form has a set rhyme scheme and meter as follows: Rhyme Scheme: a,a,b syllables: 8, 8, 3, does not have to be iambic.
