Solus
An owl descends
from cloudy grey skies,
Dropping alongside
a single tear.
It dares not speak to the owner -
only keeping company.
Quiet, solitary company.
It knows what tears are –
for when alone,
the tears of its mother skies above
are all it can call its own.
