Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

Solitude Is Over Rated

Solitude is Over Rated
by Robert (Bob) Moore © 2016

Do you ever feel that solitude,
is missing from your life
that you really need some respite
from your friends, your kids, your wife

To spend an hour, all alone
to think of times which you have known
when life moved at a slower pace
and decisions were your own

To sit and spend time to reflect
on how your life is now
compared to how it used to be
with no family, in tow

Then the sounds invade your thoughts
of laughter and children’s voices
and you return to reality
and are thankful with your life choices.

I do love my solitude and 'me time' Bob - but your final stanza quickly returns you to reality and family and friends are so so important in my life:-) hugs jan xx
