Solitude

How sweet the dulcet sound of solitude;
mellifluous in name and there to quell
the whirlwind of commotion which surrounds
our lives, and has us caught up in its spell.

And yet when isolation is not sought
but rather caused by loneliness or grief,
such emptiness in life can overwhelm;
and solitude will tender no relief.

Beautiful verse, Wendy. I relish pure solitude, as well! Wonderfully expressed! :)
