Solitary

Cold walls,
solitary confined,
trapped within this
solitary mind,
not much to do but
out the window stare,
watching dreams,
that never where,
watching the light
fade from the flame,
feeling my energy
drain just the same,
feelings that can't touch,
a hollow aching shell,
trapped in a paradox,
trapped in a cell,
never to be the
youth that tried,
only thing remaining
is the youth that died.

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. Meanwhile, I welcome you with God's love, expressed in John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
